Program Overview
The Lee County Fire and EMS Paramedic Education Program is designed to provide high-quality training and education for individuals pursuing advanced careers in Emergency Medical Services.
The Paramedic Program is structured in accordance with the National EMS Education Standards, ensuring that students receive consistent, evidence-based instruction that meets national expectations for EMS professionals. The curriculum integrates classroom learning, hands-on skills training, and clinical and field experience to prepare students for real-world emergency response situations.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic certification examination. After successfully passing the National Registry exam, candidates may apply for state licensure through the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma.
Once licensed, paramedics are authorized to perform advanced life-saving interventions under medical direction, within the scope of practice defined for their certification level.

Course Structure
The Lee County Fire and EMS Paramedic Education Program represents the highest level of prehospital care training and prepares students for advanced clinical and leadership roles in EMS.
Paramedic Training Includes:
- Advanced patient assessment and critical thinking
- Cardiac care, including ECG interpretation
- Advanced airway management and ventilation
- Comprehensive pharmacology
- Medical, trauma, pediatric, and geriatric care
- EMS leadership and operations
- Clinical rotations and field internship experience under medical supervision
Clinical and Field Experience: Students complete extensive clinical rotations and field internships under medical supervision to develop advanced patient care skills and apply classroom instruction in real-world emergency response environments.
Program Completion Pathway
- Complete all required coursework, skills training, clinical rotations, and field internship hours.
- Graduate from the Lee County Fire and EMS Paramedic Education Program.
- Successfully pass the National Registry Paramedic certification examination.
- Apply for licensure through the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma.
- Begin practice as a licensed paramedic under approved medical direction.
