The objective of the 2016 Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) process was to research, analyze, and identify prospective impediments to fair housing choice throughout non-entitlement areas of the State. To ensure an accurate evaluation of current fair housing conditions, the AI includes a review of demographic and housing market data, relevant legislation, policies and practices affecting fiar housing, public education and outreach efforts and direct community involvement through surveys, public forums, webinars and focus groups. The goal of the completed AI is to suggest actions that the State can consider when working toward eliminating or mitigating the identified impediments.
