Z25-036 MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE: The goal of Lee County’s Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update is to make residents, businesses, property owners, operators of critical infrastructure, and municipalities less susceptible to the effects of future disasters by increasing the disaster resistance of the County and its municipalities.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lee County Board of Commissioners, Leesburg City Council and Smithville City Council will hold a joint public hearing for case Z25-036 at the Lee County Board of Commissioners regularly scheduled meeting on October 14, 2025 at 5:30 pm in the T. Page Tharp Governmental Building, Opal Cannon Auditorium, 102 Starksville Avenue North, Leesburg, Georgia.

Meetings of the Lee County, Leesburg, Smithville Planning Commission, and Lee County Board of Commissioners, Leesburg City Council and the Smithville City Council are open to the public.

NOTE: Georgia Law requires that all parties who have made campaign contributions to any member of the Board of Commissioners/City Councils in excess of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) within two (2) years immediately preceding the filing of this request, who desire to appear at the public hearing in opposition or support of the application, shall, at least five (5) days prior to the public hearing, file a campaign contribution report with the Lee County/Leesburg/Smithville Planning Commission.

As set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992, the Lee County/City of Leesburg/City of Smithville Governments does not discriminate on the basis of disability, and will assist citizens with special needs given proper notice of seven (7) working days.
