WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Lee County, Georgia, has determined that a portion of Old Leslie Road, an unpaved road lying North from New York Road to HWY 195, has ceased to be used by the public to the extent that no substantial public purpose is served by said road; and
WHEREAS, this portion of the roadway must be closed in order to swap property with an adjacent property owner so as to create a straight shot for the last portion of the newly paved road to terminate at HWY 195; and
WHEREAS, Georgia Code requires that notice of such determination be published in the local legal organ once a week for a period of two (2) weeks;
NOW, THEREFORE, this is NOTICE of the foregoing determination and notice that a public hearing will be conducted during the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners regarding the closure of a portion of Old Leslie Road at 6:00 pm on June 9, 2026, in the Opal Cannon Auditorium of the T. Page Tharp Governmental Building, located at 102 Starksville Avenue North, Leesburg, Georgia.
