Utilities Authority December 2025 Meeting Change

The December meeting of the Lee County Utilities Authority has been changed to December 9, 2025 at 5:00 pm. The location will be at the Kinchafoonee Meeting Room in the T. Page Tharp Governmental Building located at 102 Starksville Avenue North, Leesburg, Georgia 31763.



Homestead Exemption Recalculation (County M&O Only)

The Lee County Tax Assessor’s Office is still actively working to correct an error in the calculation of Homestead Exemptions applied to property owners who submitted their Homestead application during the appeal period of July 1, 2025, through August 15, 2025. County Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

The offices of the Lee County Board of Commissioners will be closed Thursday, November 27, 2025 and Friday, November 28, 2025 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. County offices will reopen for regular business on Monday, December 1, 2025. Residential garbage collection services will not run on Thursday, November 27, 2025 and will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.



2026 Occupational Tax Renewals

The Lee County Business License Department has begun the renewal process for 2026. All occupations that require a state license or certification must be provided with each application. Explanation of the Current Tax Situation in Lee County, Georgia

The State of Georgia recently passed a law which allows local counties, cities, and school boards to limit value increase to all homeowners with a homestead exemption (House Bill 581).
